Our Director, Dr. Chris McBride, was recently awarded one of the ten the prestigious fellowships from across the country for the National Institute for Latino School Leaders (NILSL) by the NCLR and funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. National Council of La Raza (NCLR) is known for their work with Latinos and English Language Learners and helping them achieve educational and life success. The ultimate goal of this institute is to elevate the voices of school leaders advocating for reform measures, accountability systems and quality programs aimed at improving the educational outcomes for English learners and all students in the Latino community.
This blog will follow Dr. McBride during his two-year long fellowship as he travels across the country to Washington D.C. and other major cities where he will advocate for federal and state level educational policies to benefit all students. Make sure to follow along for our updates to see how Dr. McBride balances the NCLR fellowship, being a school director as well as a husband and father. It is sure to be an exciting journey!
